​The Intervention Task Force (ITF) works on mapping the problem of discrimination in our community. C-STAHR then looks for areas to intervene and reduce discrimination.  

 

Since breakdowns in patient-provider communication are major contributors to discrimination, C-STAHR students and community members developed a communication tool.  This form helps patients and providers get on the same page.  It also provides empowering statements for patients and asks them after the visit if they felt they were treated differently in any way.  This tool is currently being implemented in three local clinics.
